HULL RUST MINE, HIBBING, MINNESOTA.
The Hull Rust Mine in Hibbing, Minnesota, is the largest open-pit iron mine the world. Located on the Mesabi Iron Range, the mine supplied a quarter of all iron ore mined in the US during World Wars I and II. The town's website advertises the mine view as "The Grand Canyon of the North".
